Emergency Lockout Services

City Lock offers daily and after hours mobile lockout service for auto, home and business emergencies. We liberate keys from locked cars and buildings, but we can also make new keys for the locks if yours have gone missing or are broken. Payment is required at the time of service. Below is a list of information we need from you in order to provide an estimate for the job, as well as to know what tools we need to bring with us to do the job right. Please call us at 303-444-4407 and have the information below handy.

For vehicles:
  • Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle
  • Your full name and phone number
  • Whether your keys are inside, or if you will need to have a new key made
  • Address where the vehicle is parked
  • Payment for services (if paying with credit card, you must have the actual card present)
  • Proof that you own or are otherwise authorized to drive the vehicle*

For Homes/Businesses:
  • Address of the building
  • Your full name and phone number
  • Whether your keys are inside or if you will need to have a new key made
  • Payment for services (if paying with credit card, you must have the actual card present)
  • Proof that you own the building or are otherwise authorized to enter the building*

* City Lock operates responsibly and within the laws of the state of Colorado. We refuse to allow building or vehicle access to persons not explicity authorized to such.

For vehicle authorization, a title, registration, or even an insurance card with the locked-out party listed as a driver of the vehicle is acceptable proof of authorization to access the vehicle. If you are not the owner of the vehicle and you are not listed as an additional driver on the insurance for the vehicle, we must insist the owner of the vehicle is present at the time we arrive to perform the unlocking service.

For home lockouts, we require some form of photo ID identifying the locked-out party and a piece of mail listing the address of the the home and the locked-out party as the recipient, or a lease or rental agreement indicating the locked-out party resides at the address.

For office building lockouts, we will accept a business card that lists the locked out party by name and the address of the building, or any other documented proof of ownership or authorization to enter the building such as business mail listing the locked out party, or a copy of the lease or rental agreement indicating the locked-out party is a tenant of the office space.

City Lock requires proof of authorization BEFORE we unlock a building. If keys and ID are inside the building, we will require police to be present at the time of our service. To arrange this, call us first to make sure we're available, then call Boulder County Dispatch at 303-441-4444 to arrange for civil standby. We apologize if obtaining this documentation is an inconvenience to you-- of course we know being locked out is already stressful enough-- but we hope you understand this requirement is imperative for us to operate a legitimate, responsible service business.
